pioneer cdj's(800 0r 1000's) laptop,cd's,rane plug in,headphones. <font color="#444444"> ; </font> My name is Andy Pearson (dj Andy p is my dj name), and I bought my first set of decks in may, 1995.It took me about 10 months to acquire my beat control because they weren’t the best of belt drive turrtables.so, in January 1996 I bought my new set of technics 1210's and that’s when i started getting better. I started off playing old skool because that's the kind of house around at the time, and what was being played in the clubs I used to go to. I started off playing house parties, and a friend of mine put his own night on every week and played at different places. so for the first 2-3 years that's all I was doing really along with making mix tapes. in 1996 i played at the famous legends night club in Warrington a few times after the manager hearing a mix tape of mine and phoned me up to play there, subsequently giving me a residency. In 1998 I went to Greece djing for 3 months...i played in a bar there and also at the main club there called status...I went back there the following year to do the same again. I changed my style when i came back to trance. It took me time to adjust from house to trance and build up a big record collection. In 2000 I entered a dj competition at gatecrasher. I got to the final and won, and i got to play an hour spot on the radio for winning the competition. In the same year 2000, me and 2 other dj's started our own night at a club which is now closed. The club at the time was called staxx..We played every Thursday night and all 3 of us played different styles so it worked quite well. We stopped the night after about 6 months because the club started to quiet down, subsequently closing. I got bored of playing trance after 2 years and changed my style back to house music. In 2003, I joined a dj agency after sending them 2 mix cd's I made. I got quite a few bookings through them at various venues throughout the north of England. at the end of 2003 i decided to hang my headphones up for a while cause i lost interest in it...now i am hungrier than i have ever been before.. In January 2007 i bought some pioneer cd decks and gave up with vinyl. Since I have been using cd decks, I played a night in koh Tao, Thailand when i went back last year. Also played a night in the Canary Islands in a club called the hippodrome. Before I left the u.k,i had a residency near me in Derbyshire at a club called level 2.i played there fortnightly in the Luna lounge upstairs playing vocal and funky house.. ; In September, 2008, I decided to leave the u.k and head to Thailand to dj.I had already been booked to play at a major club called club lime in patong, phuket. I played a guest spot there on the 11th of October and it was quite a successful night. The events manager called me the next day to ask to have a meeting with him. He really liked the style i played and said i was just what club lime was looking for, so that's how i became resident there. I also played a few guest spots at a few other clubs in phuket aswell..Club seduction, boat bar and my friend also owns a club there called club icon and i played a few times for him as well. I finished my residency in April 2009, coming into low season. ; I have now returned back to the north of England to hopefully pursue my djing career. ; sasha,allister whitehead,dave seaman,brandon block,david dunne,graham gold.
